Availability Best Practices
11gR2 brings significant changes to Oracle RAC and Clusterware, now
called Grid Infrastructure. It also introduces ACFS, which stands
for ASM Cluster File System, and a completely different approach to
handling the OCR and Voting Disk. Other changes include the new
Single Client Access Name (SCAN) IP, a new required grid user,
Cluster Time Synchronization Service, Grid Naming Service, and some
very interesting network configuration requirements.
